A new flavor for Grey Poupon
posted in Advertising |We were recently given the task to try the newest Grey Poupon flavors of “harvest course ground” and “harvest spicy brown” and give our honest review of both products. When I was growing up I remember the commercials where one Rolls Royce pulls up to another and the passenger rolls down the window and asks “Excuse me, do you have any Grey Poupon?” The idea was that this is not your ordinary mustard and is for those with slightly higher standards. I must tell that you that the two new mustards help to redefine the Grey Poupon brand in my family’s mind.
We first used the two mustards on sandwiches and the initial response was OK from my kids and wife who are not big on spicy things, but they really loved the “hearty spicy brown” which is actually sweeter and has a great flavor. We then tried them out at our football party when we had friends over for the Greenbay Packers vs. the New York Giants. It was a great game and I only wish Brett Favre could have gone since this may be one his last years playing. On the entertainment side we placed the two mustards out so that people could make their own hoagies and snacks. What became a huge favorite was using both mustards on the pretzels instead of the regular yellow mustard. We also got great reviews for the “harvest course ground” mustard in the roast beef sandwiches with sharp provolone cheese. Our family will definitely be purchasing more of the “harvest spicy brown” since the was the house hold favorite and will give them something else to add to their school lunch instead of the same old stuff.
