Reading closed captions

posted in Blogging |

We recently got a new plasma TV and noticed after playing with some of the features that we have about 10 choices for closed captioning. While I am not hearing impaired was wondering how many choices do we need to have words displayed across the screen. While I applaud the industry for their inclusion of features for those in need, do they really need 10 variations of closed captioning? Of course I do like this feature in restaurants since you cannot hear the TV and you can catch some of the conversation from the closed caption displays.
