There are many things that we have purchased for our home that have added to the ambiance outside. We recently added a lighted house plaque so that our guests could easily find our home. The owner of this all-you-can-eat buffet knows his or her restaurant is about to get slammed, so they prepare a lot of extra food to accommodate the masses that will be coming in shortly. However, it doesn’t seem many patrons had this restaurant on their Friday evening plans. Now the owner has prepared all this extra food and it’s looking like it will be chalked-up for a loss, since no customers are coming in to eat. How nice would it be if this restaurant owner could send out a text message to 100 or 200 customers that have ate there in the past and offer them a 50 percent discount on the all-you-can-eat buffet? Or they could strategically place feather flags to help draw attention to the promotion. It would be a special text message offer and would only be good for the next 2 hours. Now all of that extra food that has been neatly laid out for a big Friday night crowd will not go to waste as his/her loyal customers rush-in to get the half-priced buffet.

The Daytona 500 is about a week away and we get to see NASCAR take off for another season. I like to watch the races and see which one of the 43 drivers has what it takes to win on any given Sunday. There is enough natural testosterone in the pits to go around for everyone. My favorite driver is Jeff Gordon and it appears Little E has joined his team for this year. Should be interesting to see what Dale Earnhardt Jr. does with Rick Hendrick as his boss.

The recent studies are out on each state’s obesity problems and that is just exactly what it remains, and it is a problem. We have just become lazy and as our technology grows to make our lives easier, it just keeps making us fatter as a nation. I’m not in the best shape myself and have no right to give any fitness tips. I just don’t think my extra 20 pounds I’m carrying around is the problem. It could be that simply diet pill that works could help in my quest to get my body in better shape.

Some people have gone way beyond the point of helping their selves and really need professional help to control their diet and exercise routines. I know it’s hard to lose weight, but that’s no excuse for just totally given up. So many new studies are directly linking people that smoke, don’t eat a balance diet, and having an inactive lifestyle is causing things like depression to diabetes. I think we all need to step up on this issue and have a National week or month of dieting across the board, where we all make commitments to shed off a few extra pounds.
