The summer just doesn’t last as long these days as it did when I was going to school. We had a full 3 months of summer vacation and now the kids are lucky to get a 2 month vacation from school. I never did like going to school much, but I did get excited right when it was time to go back. I was always eager to wear my new school clothes I just bought for going back to school and seeing what girls I could attract for the upcoming school year. The first week back to school takes some time to adjust to. You got settled into the new school furniture which in most cases was just a different colored chair. I know my sleeping pattern for summers was to stay up late and sleep late; which meant waking up close to noon. I would wake up around 6 AM when I was going to school and the night before school would begin on day 1, I wouldn’t get to sleep until sometime after midnight. It just wasn’t because that was my normal bedtime for the summer nights, but it’s hard to fall asleep knowing that school starts tomorrow. It’s similar to a kid going to sleep on Christmas Eve night, but the reward in the morning time after you woke up was much different.
