These devices are seen in most public buildings and all airports as a way to help provide instant access to help those who may go into cardiac shock. It is estimated that approximately 50% of those that have their first heart attack will die. This is why having access to care is the most important aspect of providing a more favorable outcome. Once someone goes into cardiac arrest they have very little time to regain a rhythm without facing death or permanent injury.
