I was recently staying in a hotel where someone or something accidentally set off the fire alarms that caused an evacuation of the entire building. Keep in mind that this is a 29 story building with meeting space all around the complex. I was in my room at the time and was not aware that this was going on and could not here the alarms outside in the main foyer. I walk down to meet some friends in the lobby to head to dinner and noticed that there were hundreds of people standing outside. I was surprised to find out that there had been a fire alarm and yet I had not heard a thing. I guess that goes to show that you need to keep alert at all times because I could only imagine what would have happened had there been a actual fire.
