Natural disasters and insurance
posted in Education |The latest hurricanes that came ashore showed us exactly what Mother Nature can do. Any property loss that occurs will not be recovered and it would be as if these people are starting all over. The areas shown on the news did not seem to be affluent area, but rather apartment housing, and middle income to low income housing. Hurricane Ike showed us how vulnerable we are to natural disasters and what we as a nation can do to recover from such a weather disaster. There were probably several car insurance companies that took a major hit with Ike and many adjusters were out in the field making judgments as to what would be covered based on the loss.
